It's the fourteenth of August now, and not even a month since I began my application process for this Abu Dhabi experience, yet I am likely to be leaving in just 2-3 weeks. Not knowing the exact date of departure is killing me. (Well not literally, but I can be a bit of a 'stresser')
I think the reality of it all is finally starting to kick in. Apparently 170 teachers have already begun their journey, and the rest of us will follow in two groups. The logistics of this operation have my mind boggled.
Yesterday I brought my teaching license and degree to a notary, and paid $80 so some stranger could say that they were authentic documents. Now I'll be bringing them to Ottawa on Monday only to pay another $150 to have someone else say "Ya, they're good".
This morning I am meeting my friend Rey, and he is going to help me find suitable luggage and hopefully a couple of summer weight suits, and at least 5 cotton dress shirts. It feels like I'm spending more money than anything!
